Completion of 1st Day at Spring Training with Chicago Cubs, Feb. 21, 2014

What a pleasure it is to be a very small part of the Chicago Cubs player development program in Spring Training 2014 as a consultant. The leadership continues to amaze me in their ability to build such a positive culture; an incredibly friendly place to come to work; and believing profoundly that we are each part of “Something Special” being built in the Cubs player development system.

After three days of familiarizing myself with the administrative staff, coaching staff, and support staff I continue to be even more impressed with each person’s desire to work together. The Cubs organization is a “Team” and I am very happy to be a part of this outstanding group of people.

Mini Camp started today for approximately 24 offensive players in the Cubs minor league system and about the same number of pitchers. I watched the players begin to execute some base running, throwing, defense, and hitting. Was just a fun and productive day in Wrigleyville West.
